To be a Game Official, a person must be at least age 13 by the designated date prior to the upcoming season. Officials must provide a current Data Sheet, take a written test prior to each season and pass the test with at least an 80% score, and attend one of the Officials Clinics conducted for each sport.
Scorekeepers and timers for Volleyball and Basketball do not need to take tests, but must provide a Data Sheet, attend a Scorekeeper’s Clinic, and be at least 12 years old prior to the start of the upcoming season.
All officials (umpire, referee, scorekeeper etc.) must join the Catholic Youth Council Sports Officials Association to be eligible to officiate during the sports season. Click here to visit the CYC SOA registration page.
